There's a Bing ding dong, after Microsoft (over?) enthusiastically encourages Chrome users to stop using Google, and silence hits the British Library as it shares its story of a ransomware attack. All this and more is discussed in the latest edition of the “Smashing Security” podcast by cybersecurity veterans Graham Cluley and Carole Theriault. Plus: Don't miss our featured interview with Kolide founder Jason Meller about his firm's acquisition by 1Password.

As soon as Microsoft announced a $10 billion investment on AI firm OpenAI developed ChatGPT, trade analysts suggested that the investment will also boost the search engine capabilities of Bing, the business unit of the Windows giant.

But now the analysts suggest that such investments or more than these might not benefit the business growth of Bing as it needs a lot of innovation, data and technology to make it work on a par with Google Chrome.

However, on the development part, from September this year, Bing will use ChatGPT services to increase its revenue from search results display capabilities and might help to boost the market share of the internet juggernaut that is currently way behind with only 9% of market share, when compared to the double-digit share of 84% of Google.

Coming to the craze of the new chat bot related to OpenAI, its becoming a craze as it can suggest results related to investments, health, business, finance gains and many more.

So, Microsoft that entered the partnership with the AI firm in 2019, will work on a shared principles and ethics and trust model to tackle the hiccups that the tech can’t handle.

MS investment news in the business related to Artificial Intelligence comes just after weeks when Google Cloud launched new ML tools to keep a tab on inventory and other tasks in an automated way.

Only time will let us know on what the acquisition of Nuance Communications by the Satya Nadella led company will yield. However, trade specialists state that the new tech integration might pave the way for the addition of AI and Ambient Intelligence tools to the cloud infrastructure.
