Cybersecurity in today’s world is a matter of national security and so the Department of Justice (DoJ) has created a separate litigation section in its National Security Division dedicated to Cybersecurity.

Matthew G. Olsen, the head of Justice Department has endorsed the news on Tuesday by announcing the same at the Stanford’s Hoover Institution.

As per the update released by Matthew the new section will be called as NatSec Cyber and will be highly scalable as per the need/demand.

Technically, NatSec Cyber will be dealing with disruption campaigns, prosecutions against those involved in the spread of cyber threats and announcing will prosecute those behind state sponsored attacks and the adversaries behind hit.

Congressional approval was taken early this year and the decision to launch such a legal section to personally understand the intricates of data leaks and attacks was taken in July 2022.

Olsen said though the NetSec Cyber will be operational on par with the FBI’s Cyber division, it will be dealing more with the legalities and prosecution of criminals, even if they are on inter-national borders.

Going forward, all those involved in state funded attacks should start counting their days, as the newly created legal section dedicated to security will pressurize adversary nations to send criminals who were involved in causing threat to the American National Security, for prosecution.
